Statement of Faith

One God In Three Persons
We believe in the one true and living God, Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in every way, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that God has always been and always will be. He is omniscient (all-knowing), omnipresent (always with us), and omnipotent (all-powerful).
Exodus 3:14, Deuteronomy 6:4-5, 1 Kings 8:60, Isaiah 46:9, Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 17:3

The Bible
We affirm all sixty-six books of the Bible and believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the inerrant and infallible Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and the only perfect authority in matters of faith and conduct.
2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Thessalonians 2:13, 2 Timothy 2:15, Psalm 119:105, Romans 12:13, Matthew 19:4-6, Matthew 6:19-24, John 16:33, 1 Timothy 6:3-6, Luke 12:15, Romans 8:3, 1 Corinthians 6:18-20

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life on earth as both fully God and fully man. He died on the cross, taking our sins and punishment so that we could have a new life and right standing with God. After being crucified and buried, he bodily rose from the dead three days later, appearing to his disciples before ascending to heaven. He now sits at the right hand of the throne of God. We believe Jesus will return, completing God’s redemptive plan and establishing God’s eternal Kingdom.
John 1:1, Luke 1:31-35, John 1:14, Colossians 1:15-20, Philippians 2:5-7, John 14:1-3, Acts 1:9-11, Revelation 21:1-5, Revelation 22:20

Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. After Jesus ascended into heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit to be our Helper, Counselor, and Comforter. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin and equips the believer for ministry and life. The Holy Spirit lives inside all believers and testifies to the will of God. He sanctifies and seals believers
Genesis 1:2; Acts 1:8, Ephesians 1:13–14

We believe that we are all made in the image of God, no matter our gender, ethnicity, ability, social class, or culture. Therefore, all humans are worthy of honor and dignity and vital to the church. God made humans male and female according to their birth. Because of Adam and Eve's sin in the fall, all humans are born sinners in desperate need of God's grace and forgiveness to escape the just wrath of a holy God. God's purpose for us is to bring glory to God in all that we do through growing in faith and grace as we grow in a personal relationship with him.
Jeremiah 1:5, Psalm 139:13-16, Genesis 1:23-27, Isaiah 55:8-9, Romans 3:23, Matthew 28:19-20, 1 Corinthians 10:31

The Gospel of Salvation
We believe in the Gospel and the power of the Gospel. All humans sin. The result of sin is death and separation from God. Believers are saved only by His grace through faith in Jesus, who lived the perfect life we can’t, yet accepted the punishment for sin we deserve. No good deeds or work of our own could ever be sufficient to earn our salvation. Jesus’ death on the cross, burial, and bodily resurrection demonstrated God’s love, upheld God’s justice, showed God’s mercy, and displayed God’s power.
Romans 1:16, Romans 3:21-24, Romans 5:12, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:1, John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5-6, Ephesians 2:8-9, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Colossians 2:13-14, Romans 5:8, Ephesians 2:4-5, Romans 8:1-2, 1 Corinthians 15:3-4, Matthew 28:6, Acts 1:3

The Church
We believe that the church is the body of Christ that is called to live out God's mission by making disciples of all nations through word and action. The church is not a place, but rather the body of believers. We also believe that members of this universal body of believers should become members of a local church where they can take part in the church ordinances of baptism and communion, and grow in discipleship through community. We believe that just as there is a distinction in the forming of man and woman in Genesis 2, that distinction plays out within the church by setting aside the office of elder/bishop/pastor for qualified male leadership. Outside of this office, women are able to lead, teach, serve, and love in the same way that our faithful sisters lived out their giftedness in the early church.
Matthew 28:19–20; 1 Corinthians 10:17; Colossians 1:8; 1 Peter 5:1–5, 1 Timothy 3:1-7, Titus 1:6-9, Romans 16

We believe that marriage is a gift from God and a covenant between one man and one woman. They are joined together as one flesh. The marriage bed is sacred and sex is a gift of God between a husband and wife in the confines of marriage. We believe that the wife should love and submit to her husband as the church loves and submits to Christ. We also believe that the husband should love his wife as Christ laid down his life for the church.
Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:21–33
